How Much RAM Do I Need?
The right amount of RAM depends on what you do, not on chasing a number just because it sounds impressive.
Answer
Start with your actual workload. Open Task Manager while using your usual apps and check Memory under Performance. If memory stays nearly full and switching apps becomes slow, more RAM may help. If memory use is modest, the slowdown may come from storage, heat or another problem. Before buying, check your computer’s supported memory type, capacity and available slots; some laptops have soldered memory.
